Grow Biointensive is a very small research institute started by John Jeavons, who wrote "How to Grow More Vegetables than You Though Possible on Less Land Than You Can Imagine." I've found their newsletters very helpful.

www.attra.org is the website for the National Sustainable Agriculture Information Service; I found this page there
http://www.attra.org/attra-pub/potmix.html
which has recipes for organic seed starting mixes, if you want to make your own. (A LOT cheaper than buying pre-made seed starting mixes.)

"Instructables" has LOTS of step-by-step descriptions of nifty ideas, a few of which are related to gardening.

Here's one - http://www.instructables.com/id/Grow-Onions-from-Discarded-Onion-Bo...

Enjoy!

The Old Farmer's Almanac is a good basic resource for everything to first and last frost dates, preparing the soil and seedlings to various gardening articles and help.
