I called the companies for two catalogs I receive and found that they both offer heirlooms for this area that they have tested in their gardens. Nichol's Garden clearly lists which are hybrids and which are heirlooms. Abundant Life is the other one - it's not as clearly listed which are heirlooms, though. Abundant Life's catalog says that they do not knowingly buy genetically engineered seeds or plants.
