Here is an interesting article on research that has identified chemicals in moss that slugs won't eat.

It looks like the researchers want to create a future slug repellent from this.  Good luck to them.

Meanwhile, I wonder if deliberately planting some moss around and throughout the garden would send the little monsters on their way, or concentrate them on the lettuce where I don't want them.

Hmmmm....

Only if you embed something like razor blades in the moss. Thanks for the article, it matches the June meeting topic.
