This parsley is surrounded by biochar (which we sift from the ashes of a hot burning fire in our front room stove and scatter all over the soil) We add a layer of compost, etc to the soil each spring (No-dig permaculture gardening)

Yes. I had parsley growing throughout the winter of 2016 until I finally harvested it in late April. The two plants had developed huge root systems. They were in a low tent without additional cover. I "neglected" them thinking that they would be cold-weather casualties.
