Regarding pesticides and herbicides

There are a number of threats to garden productivity, some of which are very difficult to control. So, often I'm tempted to take "serious actions" against both weeds and predators in my garden and a few times I have succumbed to feelings of expediency to do "something." I've been aware of risks and hazards, but this article from consumernotice.org gave me useful information in common agricultural practices for managing threats to crops and caused me to reconsider.
